Wales : Fly Fishing, Mountain Biking & Horse Riding
Celtic
Safaris is based in North Wales near the village of Nannerch. Here we have comfortable
B&B accommodation and a small casting pool to teach people fly fishing and
advanced casting. In less than five minutes drive there are
two stocked trout pools which offer excellent clear water fishing for good
quality rainbow trout.
Within a 10 min drive there are three little known lakes set in the hills behind our cottage that offer rainbow and brown trout fishing in beautiful countryside.
We
are ideally placed to gain access to numerous further lakes and rivers in
North Wales while still being in reach of Chester for sightseeing. Less
than 30 mins away is the world famous Llyn Brenig which contains rainbow
and brown trout and offers excellent loch style boat fishing. Further into
the mountains there are many more fishing opportunities and we have specialist
knowledge of the numerous mountain lakes and permissions to access them.
Fishing is available for wild brown trout, char, sea trout, salmon and grayling
and sea fishing with light spinning and fly tackle for bass and pollack.
We also have access to a number of nearby streams in North Wales including
sections of the Elwy, Clwyd, Dee and other rivers, although some may need
to be booked in advance.
There is plenty to do and see from Nannerch.
Within walking distance of our cottage is the "Cross Foxes" village
pub and we can also arrange horse riding on nearby Halkyn Common and in Snowdonia.
The hills above Nannerch have mountain bike trails which are very highly rated
attracting visitors from across the UK. There are numerous walks and a variety
of excellent pub restaurants. Chester, a walled medieval city, with excellent
amenities is just over half an hour away by car.
Ireland : Fly Fishing, Horse Riding & Golf
Celtic Safaris arrange specialist game fishing holidays in Ireland. Ireland is a world renowned destination for anglers and a convenient ferry ride from Wales.
Again the number of lakes are too numerous to list but a perusal of the map gives some idea of the extent of fishing available both in the mountains and the valleys. Many of the lakes have boats and contain sea trout as well as brown trout not to mention the salmon fishing in river and lake. Again we have fishing treks as well as boat fishing holidays.
We are also in the process of acquiring a lodge in Co Mayo giving access to the world renowned Loughs Corrib, Mask and Conn which we will let for holidays with guiding and a boat.
Scotland : Fly Fishing & Walking
We
have an arrangement with a very remote series of lodges in the Sutherland
region of the highlands of Scotland. They overlook a chain of lakes holding
brown trout and char. This area is the wildest and least populated region
of the UK and is very much for the serious wild trout enthusiast.
There are vast numbers of lakes and small streams in this area all holding trout and these can be fished from boat or bank. A few lakes can be fished easily with access to boats being close to the road but most waters are remote and approached on foot sometimes after a hard trek across the mountains.
Due to the remoteness of this area all our treks are strictly guided. Again please see the map for an idea of the terrain and number of waters of which we have intimate knowledge gained from years of fishing them!
Abroad : Fly Fishing
We can arrange fishing in other parts of the world and have particular knowledge of unusual and wild destinations that make a change from the well trod angling locations. Destinations where we can arrange wilderness fishing include Norway, Northern Spain and the Alps.
We are the specialists for wild fish in wild locations
